Dear Family and Friends of St. Andrew’s Göteborg,

I arrived back on Tuesday the 4th of July after a very mobile and active “working-holiday”. During that time I attended the International Student Chaplain’s Conference at the University of Aberdeen where I met Academic Chaplains from around the world and was able to share experiences with them about our unique ministry and its challenges. I attended a seminar on suicide Recognizing the Signs which followed through with the work I did in Maine with individuals dealing with their issues surrounding their recovery. I went on to London to meet with Bishop David and then to Tangier Morocco to assume pastoral responsibilities at St. Andrew’s English Church for the last three Sundays. They have not had a priest for many months so I was glad to help out. They have been very much affected by the refugee crisis going on in Africa.

This Sunday I will be dedicating a new set of green vestments which I bought in London. They are presented with the kindness and generosity of donations from the Ladies Guild, Australian Ambassador, Gisela and Kieth Barnard, and Gunilla Ramell. I bought them in London from Whippells perhaps the foremost and most reputable provider of Church furnishings.

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday .

Best to You,

Chaplain David

Dear Friends and Family of St. Andrew’s,

THANK YOU to all who helped make St. Andrew’s Garden Party & Bazaar a success!  It ended up being a great day & it was lovely to see so many people stopping by and supporting the church.

Pastor David is away right now and Andrew Wingate is currently filling in for David.  Andrew will be at St. Andrew’s for two more Sunday’s (11/6 and 18/6).  Thereafter Lars van der Heeg on 25/6 and Irène Ungelheim on 2/7 will be leading St. Andrew’s.  David will return in July.
The Church Lottery will soon be launched!  We hope that everyone will consider supporting the lottery as its purpose is to help make our building is in good shape.
Attached below you will find a newsletter for your reading, DIET – Diocese in Europe Times.
And one last reminder from the Treasurer…. Please do not put old coins or notes in the collection or the coffee donations tins from now on. The Treasurer will not be able to go to the bank again before the end of the month, so St. Andrews will not get the benefit of your donation.
Enjoy the sunshine!

Jennifer Abbås, on behalf of the Church Committee
