We warmly welcome THE BOMBADILS from Halifax, Canada.

The Bombadils create beautiful harmonies and enchanting melodies by reconfiguring Celtic and old-time music, sea shanties and poetry into a new folk framework. Luke’s guitar, mandolin and harmonies are the ideal counterpoint to Sarah’s sweet-yet-powerful vocals, lyrical fiddle and claw-hammer banjo. Innovative arrangements give their songs layer upon layer of sonically satisfying surprises.

“Some real nice energetic sounds emanate from The Bombadils…Their secret is melodies, in an old-fashioned, simple manner steeped in old-world folk traditions… interwoven and immersed in a spiritual showcase…This all confirms that Sarah and Luke should already be sharing stages with the likes of Iris, John Prine, Roseanne Cash, Emmylou Harris”

The Bombadils

A little Christmas song we made! http://smarturl.it/TheBombadilsXmas

As our chaplain David pointed out last Sunday, we have now entered the long liturgical season following Trinity Sunday, ORDINARY TIME, which will last till the First of Advent.

Our third new service book was ready and distributed. Our enthusiastic Music Director decided to continue with the communion music composed especially for our choir by our former organist Peter Hansen, so that all our dear congregation will get used to it and appreciate it as much as the choir does!!! We noticed that everyone seems to know the Gloria now!!

On Sunday June 10th we will have the pleasure of listening to Leif Sunesson and Lisa singing several of the beautiful Swedish Summer hymns we have come to love. Do not miss this opportunity!

The choir will be on holiday as usual from Midsummer till mid-August as usual. Anyone at home will turn up on Sundays nevertheless. I will be around to play the organ most of the time, but our new choirmember Patrick Holming has agreed to stand in if my husband Stig and I manage to fix a trip somewhere!!

Finally, happy and healthy holidays, and safe journeys!  Think about joining the choir in August, by the way!!
